    Chromebook Damaged Device Information

Most students are very careful with their technology devices. However, accidents do happen.  There is a limited factory warranty but that will not cover accidents, theft, or loss.

One of the suggested options that families will want to consider for their child's Chromebook is third-party insurance which usually covers breakage, theft, or loss.

District 12 does not offer an insurance policy, and purchasing insurance is optional. However, we recommend contacting your insurance company and/or other third-party insurers to inquire about the policies they offer.

There are some options for insurance coverage. One company District 12 is working with is ITSAVVY. The insurance to cover your child's Chromebook will be (option 1) $28.00, or (option 2) $35. Please click on the application to the left for more coverage information.

If parents do not choose to enroll in the technology insurance program, any damage to the device will be charged to the parents.  To completely replace a Chromebook, the cost will be $317.00 (depending on your student's Chromebook model).

To purchase insurance, follow the steps below:

    1. To enroll, complete the form on the left side called Chromebook Insurance Application. You just have to type or write in your student's name and the service tag number (serial number) on the backside of the Chromebook.
    2. Write a check for $28.00 or $32.00 to Roselle School District 12.
    3. Drop off the form and check at your child’s school or the Administration Office at 100 East Walnut Street.

If you have any questions, please call the district office at 630-529-2091.
