Kim Duris

 Dr. Kim Duris, Board President

 Dr. Kimberly Duris has been a resident of Roselle since 2004, where she   resides with her husband and three children.  She has two children at   Spring Hills Elementary and a preschooler at home.
 
  Dr. Kimberly Duris is a full professor in the Department of Psychology at Lewis University, Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She is also a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor (CADC) and uses her clinical experience to serve local community mental health agencies.  She has worked in the field of counseling since 2000.  Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal social justice (2000), a Master's of Arts degree in counseling psychology (2003), and a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in counselor education and supervision (2015).  The nearly two decades of experience in mental health counseling, focusing on children and adolescents, have provided her with a wealth of knowledge regarding child development.
 
Kimberly Duris was appointed to the school board in May 2019 and currently serves on the Board's policy committee.  Her interest in serving on the board is connected to her goal for all kids to receive a high level of educational, social-emotional, and extracurricular experiences that will serve as the springboard for their adult lives.
 

 

Lydia Galante

 Lydia Galante, Board Vice-President

  Lydia Galante is a Roselle resident of 20+ years. She also serves on the   Village's Planning and Zoning Commission and is the Treasurer of the   Roselle Public Library Foundation.  Lydia volunteers with District 12's Parent   Teacher Organization and Green Roselle.
 
  Lydia is very excited to serve the community as a member of the Board of Education and is focused on ensuring that District 12's children receive an education that sets them up for a lifetime of success, both inside the classroom and out. She wants to engage the entire community so that everyone is invested in student success. 
 
 Lydia and her spouse have 1 child in District 12.
 

 

Mania

 Mania Karimi, Board Member

  Mania Karimi has been a Roselle resident for over 15 years with her 
 husband and two children. She considers it an honor to live in Roselle and   is committed to serving her community. A veteran educator with 21+ years   of experience in Chicago Public Schools, private schools, and suburban districts, Mania brings a wealth of expertise to this position. 
 
Driven by compassion for student advocacy, Mania is passionate about ensuring all students receive an exceptional education and is eager to contribute her skills and experience to the   board. 
 
Mania holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Illinois and an MA in Special Education from Roosevelt University. Committed to community engagement, Mania has served on multiple school district committees. 
 

 

Hoeft-Runde

 Tara Hoeft-Runde, Board Secretary

Tara Hoeft-Runde has lived in Roselle for over 20 years. She and her husband have a
daughter attending Spring Hills School

Tara brings 26 years of experience in education to the Roselle District 12 School Board. She earned a B.S. in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University and an M.A. in Teaching and Leadership from St. Xavier University.. As a classroom teacher since 1999, Tara has firsthand knowledge of what it takes to provide student-focused instruction while putting into practice policy and school initiatives. She is a dedicated student advocate. Tara knows the importance of working together with all members of educational teams to meet students' diverse needs.
 
As a District 12 School Board member, Tara looks forward to collaborating with all members of the District 12 community to provide the best outcomes for our students. 
 

 

Tom

 Tom Richards, Board Member

  Tom Richards, a dedicated resident of Roselle since 2004, moved into his   mother’s childhood home to raise his daughter in a community rich with   family history. A proud father, Tom watched his daughter thrive at Trinity   Lutheran and graduate from Lake Park High School, following in her grandmother’s footsteps.
 
With 30 years of experience as a logistics professional, Tom brings a wealth of organizational expertise and problem-solving skills to the table. An active member of the Roselle American  Legion, he is deeply committed to serving the community.
 
Tom is passionate about ensuring quality education and fostering a supportive environment for all students in Roselle’s schools. 
 
 
 

 Dr. Imran Shakir, Board Member

 Dr. Imran Shakir is a dual board-certified psychiatrist in adult psychiatry   and child & adolescent psychiatry, and he currently serves as the Group   Chief Medical Officer at Chicago Behavioral Hospital and Silver Oaks   Behavioral Hospital. His parents immigrated to Roselle nearly 60 years ago and live in the same house where he was raised! He is passionate about safeguarding student mental health while also ensuring their access to a high-quality education.  Proudly born and raised in Roselle, he is a product of the Roselle public school system and is grateful to continue serving the community that helped shape him.

Imran and his wife have two sons currently in D12 schools.

 

 Dr. Michelle Sadko, Board Member

Dr. Michelle Sadko is an Associate Professor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Chamberlain University. Michelle has worked in healthcare for 21 years. She has been a Registered Nurse for 16 years, including 13 years of experience as a nurse educator. Michelle’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (2010), a Master of Science in Nursing degree (2013), and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (2017). She was awarded the 2024 Nurse Educator Fellowship from the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Illinois Nursing Workforce Center.

Michelle has been a Roselle resident for four years, where she resides with her husband, son, who attends Spring Hills, and mini goldendoodle. In her free time, Michelle enjoys exercising,  spending time outdoors with her family, and event planning. 

Michelle is honored to serve on the board and is passionate about ensuring academic growth, a safe learning environment, opportunities for all students to thrive, and employee satisfaction.
